How do I purchase a plan before I leave?

Before purchasing a plan, note the following:

  • If you purchase a data plan for a country within the region you are currently in, or a World Plan, DO NOT ACTIVATE THE ESIM WHILE YOU ARE IN YOUR HOME COUNTRY. If you do, the eSIM will connect and start using data and start counting down.
  • If you purchase a data plan more than 30 days in advance of your travel, THE PLAN DURATION WILL START COUNTING DOWN 30 DAYS AFTER THE PURCHASE.

To purchase a plan for your travel destination:

  1. Log into your GigSky app.
  2. Enter the name of your destination country in the search field.
  3. Tap the country from the list of search results.
  4. The plans available for that country will be shown. If more than one type of plan is available, you can swipe left and right to reveal the cards for each type of plan.
  5. Tap the plan you want to buy. If the plan will not work in your current location, you will be prompted to confirm that you want to continue with the purchase.
  6. Tap Continue.
  7. Enter a promo code, if you have one, and makes sure that the correct payment method has been selected.
  8. Tap Buy Plan.

If you have not already downloaded and installed the correct GigSky eSIM for your destination, you will be taken through the eSIM download process.

You will need to select the correct eSIM for your data plan when you arrive in your destination.

To confirm which SIM/eSIM is being used for data:

  1. Go to Settings > Cellular.
  2. Under the CELLULAR PLANS heading, you will see the names of all the SIMs/eSIMs installed on your device.
  3. Next to Cellular Data at the top of the screen, you will see the name of the Cellular Plan that is active.

If you want to change the active SIM/eSIM:

  1. Go to Settings > Cellular.
  2. Tap Cellular Data.
  3. Select the eSIM that you wish to use.
