Cruise Connectivity Issues

Dear Cruise Customer,

Due to a technical issue that we are working to resolve, our service is not working as expected on cruise ships for some customers. If you are not getting data on your cruise ship with the GigSky eSIM, please follow the following workarounds:

Apple iPhone

  1. Go to Settings > Cellular (some devices may display Mobile Data instead)
  2. Tap the label of the GigSky SIM installed in the phone
  3. Tap SIM Applications
  4. Tap Subscription Manager
  5. Tap Select Mode
  6. Tap Manual
  7. Tap IMSI5
  8. Confirm that the APN is set to gigsky (Go back to the GigSky SIM menu, tap Cellular Data Network, and ensure the APN field under "Cellular Data" says "gigsky".)
  9. Toggle Airplane Mode ON and OFF to refresh the connection.

Upon leaving the ship or reaching port, be sure to set the mode back to Automatic:

  1. Go to Settings > Cellular
  2. Tap the label of the GigSky SIM installed in the phone
  3. Tap SIM Applications
  4. Tap Subscription Manager
  5. Tap Select Mode
  6. Tap Automatic

Android - Samsung

  1. Go to Apps, search for and open SIM Toolkit (some devices may display Subscription Manager).
  2. Tap Subscription Manager
  3. Tap Select Mode
  4. Tap Manual
  5. Tap IMSI5
  6. Confirm that the APN is set to gigsky (Go to Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names. Ensure the GigSky tab is selected at the bottom. If it's wrong/missing: Tap the + icon, set the APN to "gigsky" and select Save.)
  7. Toggle Airplane Mode ON and OFF to refresh the connection.

Upon leaving the ship or reaching port, set the mode back to Automatic:

  1. Go to Apps, search for and open SIM Toolkit (some devices may display Subscription Manager). 
  2. Tap Subscription Manager
  3. Tap Select Mode
  4. Tap Automatic

Android - Google Pixel / Other Android

  1. Go to Apps, search for and open Subscription Manager (some devices may display SIM Toolkit).
  2. Tap Subscription Manager
  3. Tap Select Mode
  4. Tap Manual
  5. Tap IMSI5
  6. Confirm that the APN is set to gigsky (Go to Settings > Network & internet > SIMs > GigSky. Scroll down and tap Access Point Names. Tap the GigSky profile and ensure the APN field is set to "gigsky". If missing: Tap the + icon, set the APN to gigsky, tap the three dots (⋮), and select Save.)
  7. Toggle Airplane Mode ON and OFF to refresh the connection.

Upon leaving the ship or reaching port, set the mode back to Automatic:

  1. Go to Apps, search for and open Subscription Manager 
  2. Tap Subscription Manager
  3. Tap Select Mode
  4. Tap Automatic

Apple iPad

There is no workaround available for iPad.
