How do I reset the APN on my Huawei mobile Wi-Fi hotspot?

Sometimes, when moving between countries, the APN (Access Point Name) for the Huawei hotspot may get reset to the factory default. In these cases, you will need to set it to "gigsky" in order to use our data service. If you bought your hotspot from GigSky, there are two ways to do this:

1. Using the hotspot admin interface through a browser window, or
2. Using the Huawei HiLink iOS / Android app.

Using a web browser:
1. Connect your device to the hotspot's Wi-Fi network.
2. Enter 192.168.1.1 into the url field of your browser window.
3. Log in with the username / password of admin / admin.
4. Go to Settings -> Dial-up -> Profile Management and select GigSky from the Profile name drop-down menu.
5. Click Apply.

Using the app:
1. Connect your device to the hotspot's Wi-Fi network.
2. Open the HiLink app.
3. Tap the cog icon to open the settings screen.
4. Tap Network, and then APN.
5. Select "GigSky" from the list of APNs and then click the check mark (tick) at the top right, to confirm the setting.
