We recommend that you install your eSIM by using the Install eSIM button associated with your data plan in the GigSky app. There is no need to use a QR code. However, if you want to use the QR code for your eSIM, you will need to open the GigSky app, tap My Plans, find your new plan, tap Install eSIM, choose one of the options under Different Device, and then tap Install Now. You'll then see instructions for QR Code and Manual installation.

Usually, to scan a QR code, you would display it on another device or print it out and then scan it using your camera app, but you can't do that if you only have one device.

‍Android devices, and Apple devices from iOS 17.4 onwards, allow you to scan a QR code from an image saved to your camera roll without installing any extra apps.

iOS devices (iOS 17.4 or later)

1. Open the email containing your QR code.
2. Take a screenshot of the QR code and save it to your Photos.
3. Open the Camera app (NOT the Photos app).
4. Open the Photo library in the Camera app (tap bottom left).
5. Find the image that contains the QR code.
6. Tap and hold the QR code in the image.
7. Tap Add eSIM and follow the instructions.

Android devices

Not all Android devices have a built-in option to scan a QR code from photos, and the options may vary depending on your device.

Samsung Galaxy

1. Take a screenshot of your QR code by pressing the power button and the volume down button at the same time.
2. Go to Settings > Connections > SIM manager.
3. Tap Add SIM.
4. Tap Set up an eSIM.
5. Tap Other ways to connect to a mobile network.
6. Tap Scan QR code.
7. Tap the photo gallery icon and select the photo of the QR code.
8. Tap Done and Add and follow the instructions to download and install your eSIM.

Google Pixel

1. Take a screenshot of your QR code by pressing the power button and the volume down button at the same time.
2. Go to Settings > Network & internet > SIMs.
3. Tap Add SIM.
4. Tap Set up an eSIM.
5. Tap Use a different network.
6. Tap Scan from photo and select the photo of the QR code.
7. Tap Set up and follow the instructions to download and install your eSIM.

• While most iOS and Android devices support QR code scanning from a photo, not all devices do. You may need to download a third-party QR code scanner if your device does not support QR code scanning.
